THE SIMPLE WOMAN'S DAYBOOK

For today, December 1, 2008

OUTSIDE MY WINDOW: birdhouses covered in snow, the beautiful handmade wreath my friend Rhonda gave me for Christmas and my huge lilac tree glistening with snow.

I AM THINKING: I really need to start Christmas shopping! And, how come Dawn at Sun and Candlelight (see my sidebar) hasn't blogged latley? I'm seriously having Dawn withdrawl!

FROM THE LEARNING ROOM: (which is really the kitchen table and living room floor)... books and plans for our new unit on The Great Fire of London 1666.

I AM THANKFUL FOR: a warm house, a good book and a full tummy!

FROM THE KITCHEN: the hum of the dishwasher

I AM WEARING: TENNIS SHOES, ATHLETIC SOCKS, BLUE JEANS, SILVER EARRINGS, HARDLY ANY MAKE UP, TOSSLED BED-HEAD HAIR- AS USUAL AND A LIME GREEN TOP AND LIME GREEN HOODIE-- MY MOM FOUND BOTH AT THE SALVATION ARMY.....CHEAP AND CUTE!

I AM READING: about the London Fire of 1666, so I can add to our lessons and the novel, The Virgin Blue.

I AM HOPING: for a good night's sleep and that things start picking up on EBAY for me!

I AM CREATING: mental notes of things I need to do and lesson plans

I AM HEARING: the hum of the dishwasher, the dog crunching her dry dog food and some over-animated sappy cartoon

AROUND THE HOUSE: It's lit up with lights and Christmas decorations. The house is clean. Potatoes drying on the kitchen counter...ready for me to freeze them!

ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS: when the Sunday paper comes out with all their coupons and flyers and I can sit back and match my coupons up!

A FEW PLANS FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK: homeschooling, I may send out an email to our homeschool group to see if anyone is up for an afternoon of sledding,

HERE IS A PICTURE THOUGHT I'M SHARING WITH YOU... I wish our homeschool group would buy this bus...wouldn't we just rock on our way to fieldtrips? And, for a good time, we could run it through local city parades! Just a bunch of radical homeschoolers having a good time!

The bus would make a good camper too! We used to have a bus-camper when I was a kid. If I am feeling better, I might be up for sledding, except my kids have art on Wed afternoon.

That bus would be fun! I'd try to go sledding with you just say when

Hunter's been wanting to go sledding, but now he is not feeling well. Tomorrow might be a different story.

Anyway, how do I go about signing up for this womans day book thing? It's lots of fun reading, I'd like to have fun doing it too.

Oh, man, I would like to have that bus for myself. Michele, you and I need an antiques business and that could be our shopping bus. Okay?
