Monday!

This past weekend, found me in the mood to nest and do really domestic things! Janet M...I will be posting the cereal cookie recipe at the end of this entry...so keep reading! I made homemade croutons, with the leftover breads we had from the previous week. I also made more homemade cleaners...they work beautifully! And, we played four games of UNO.

On Saturday, I went to Goodwill...remember the periwinkle blue baby blanket in my last entry, that I found? I also scrounged through their .20 cent bins! Oh my gosh..I was breathing hard, hair falling in my eyes, and creative juices flowing! Here are a couple of pictures of the 20 cent treasures I bought...(I'll post more pictures throughout the week, so check back!)

Above: hot pink and lime green rubber/material cleaning/gardening gloves! I love these and had to come right home and try them on!

I was also able to double up and stack coupons on Saturday...at Krogers...and came home with the above FREE products. My savings was only $18. this weekend. But, since Jan. 1, 09...my savings at Krogers has been $272.00. See how this couponing is like having a part time job?

At Goodwill, I also found scrapbooking supplies... card making supplies, tags, glitter glue, and Christmas pages and stamps, lip gloss, and post-it notes. These were all .20 each. Can you understand why I was breathing hard? We seem to use a lot of chip-clip's for our bags of whatever. I scooped up lots of 4-packs...I think they'll be cute to use when I dry flowers this summer.

I found an easy, easy recipe for homemade Taco Seasoning. I tripled the recipe and poured it into this recycle bacon-bit jar! We used this seasoning to make nachos on Saturday night...and the mix is excellent! Click here for the recipe: Taco.

Now, for the Breakfast Cookie recipe....
(I doubled the recipe and froze the dough for later use)
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. veg oil
1/2 c. softened margarine
1 Tbsp. milk
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. peanut butter
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. cornflakes (I used Rice Krispy's)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. quick oats
1/2 cup peanuts or nuts of your choice
Mix sugars, oil and margarine. Add milk, egg, vanilla and peanut butter. Mix in flour, cornflakes, baking soda, salt and oats. Stir in peanuts, if desired. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 350* for 12-15 minutes.
