this, that and the other.....

I've been into saving little glass jars lately. I can't explain why...but some of them are so darn cute! Like the kind chicken bullion comes in....or bacon bits. And, spaghetti jars make nice all-purpose jars... we use many of them to harvest larvae in the summertime! Yesterday, I pulled out my acrylic paint and a handful of mini-marshmallows and begin to dot-paint them! More on how cute they turned out in a minute............

Here's something I learned off the coupon message board that I frequent... say for example, you find a coupon, like what's in the Kroger booklet (see below) that came in the mail yesterday..... Now, my instinct tells me "I can only use it at Kroger's"... but, gasp.......NO! ... if it has a number 5 on the outside of the bar-code (see above, I circled it like a blue sun for you!!!), you can use it any place that accepts coupons! These are the type you can "stack or piggy-back" (that's coupon talk-for "us" couponers- smile-wink-nod!) which means that, if you have a coupon for $2. off from this booklet, and Meijers is offering a 2 for $5. and then you find a coupon in Sunday's paper for $1. off and you run out and buy a second paper and clip another coupon out for a $1. off...you'd be paying about a buck a bottle. See how fun this is???

Here's a snap of my finished thrifty craft...and yes....they were completed from start to finish in 10 minutes or less.... one jar holds birthday candles, one jar is still empty...and the other is collecting those odds and end cereal/cracker crumbs...waiting to be added to the next batch of bird suet! I'll be making more of these little jars...you can bet on that!

I hope you appreciate this picture I snapped yesterday...as I was sitting here at the kitchen table... you see, I heard this big BAMmmm! Looked up, and this squirrel was scampering up and down our screen door! I reached for my camera...because it was soooo cool, and I knocked over my piping-hot cup of coffee... which went everywhere! Please....tell me you appreciate it....

Your coupon classes are unbelievable! Love the jars and the attack of the killer squirrel was very appreciated here lol. We have tunnel sniper squirrels here that like to freak the dog out!

I had NO idea about the #5 and I always thought using more than one coupon was cheating. NOW I know how people get stuff free.

And yes, the squirrel pic is appreciated!

Love the squirrel photo! Yes, it was worth every drop of spilled coffee to capture it:) The jars are awesome. My girls would love that craft (and would love to eat some mini marshmallows along with it).

Michele, thanks for the coupon info. I did not know that.

And thank you for the squirrel picture! I do appreciate it!! Squirrels are very careful now in this yard. The cats will get them!

Love that squirrel... we don't get many here. And those jars are too cute I wouldn't have thought of using marshmellows!
