Just Sunday!

SUNDAY!

I drove north to the thrift shop...the one in my previous post, that I was so excited for...only to see a "closed" sign in the window! So...I made the best of it and visited a new library and checked out a nice stack of educational materials! And, Pirates of the Caribbean dvd- which we have never seen! Which we watched last night and loved! There's just something about Johnny Depp. I also checked out a couple of videos: 3 Whitefish Bay Shipwrecks, Michigan-California Lumber Company and Jamestown, Colonial Life for Children. I found a couple of good Chemistry experiment books and a nice kids picture book of The Great Yellowstone Fire. This week for homeschooling, we'll be using the living book, "What was it like, Thomas Edison?" and related lessons from Beyond Five in a Row... I don't care much for The Childhood of Famous Americans-which is recommended to use with Beyond FIAR, but love the ideas in the manual. So, I'll be merging them! There was a time I liked the Childhood series. Betsy Ross and Walt Disney were wonderful... but some are real sleepers (ZZZZZZZZZ!) for 5th grade. Just my opinion. Tonight the three of us are heading back to church to see the movie, "Fireproof," our church is offering pop and popcorn, as well. I realize this movie isn't exactly for kids... but, hopefully there will be some action to hold my son's interest. If not, I'm sure he'll enjoy all the pop and popcorn! I spotted a couple of Lark Sparrow's at our feeders! What an interesting bird! God has made them easy to identify, by leaving His thumbprint on their breast... a perfectly shaped black dot! God is sure the best artist ever! Don't you agree? I have a couple of freebies to share.... send for a million dollar bill- (I put it it Tommie's name- he'll think he's pretty cool, when the envelope comes)...click here: Money! I'm also sharing a site, where you can receive a free January birthstone...since Tommie's birthday is this month...I thought he might get a kick out of it... click here: Birthstone! Now, whether the come or not is yet to be seen...but, if they do, it will add a little specialness to our day! smile-wink-nod!

Enjoy the movie! I tried to persuade Bob to come out with me to see it tonight too. No dice! I can't believe you've just now seen Pirates of the Caribbean! Isn't it awesome?
