SIMPLE WOMAN'S DAY BOOK

UPDATE: The Fireproof movie was excellent! If you get the chance, be sure to see it. The popcorn was good and so was the big Pepsi... the movie was longer then I realized... maybe 2 or 2 1/2 hours.
The Simple Woman's Daybook for January 5th, 2009
OUTSIDE MY WINDOW: It's pitch dark outside...I wish it would snow!
FROM THE LEARNING ROOM: After two weeks of holiday celebrations, sugar cookies and commercialism, we both were "ready" to start back to homeschooling. We ended up incorporating Art (reverse glass painting), Apologia and reading the book of Job, 3 science experiments- 2 which were unsuccessful, and reading about Yellowstone's Fire's. Math went slow. Thomas Edison was a hit.
I AM THANKFUL FOR: the video player I bought at a garage sale this past summer for $5. It's impossible to find only a video player, anymore.
FROM THE KITCHEN: The dishwasher's running. Lights are out. Dinner was chicken stir-fry and rice.
I AM WEARING: BLUE JEANS, GREY AND ORANGE SWEATSHIRT, WHITE TANK TOP AND HIKING BOOTS. I HAVE NOTHING BLACK ON TODAY. AND, I'M WEARING THE ADORABLE EARRINGS THAT TOMMIE MADE ME FOR CHRISTMAS.
I AM READING: A hodge-podge of this and that...
I AM HOPING THAT: We have another productive homeschool day, tomorrow. I'm also hoping that I can get a good night's sleep.
I AM CREATING: Nothing presently. But tomorrow, I'd like to make this bread: PEASANT BREAD
I AM HEARING: The dishwasher and a VINTAGE Lumbering video I picked up at the library. It's a Brad-Tommie thing.
AROUND THE HOUSE: Toy Army tanks and little green Army men at war on my living room floor, Brad laying in the recliner- occasionally giving me sound effects from the video, "oh wow, ahhhh, whoa!", Tommie sitting next to me on the couch... patiently waiting to use the internet!
ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS: The Internet, my church, and that first sip of caffinated coffee in the morning!
MY PLANS FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK: Michigan History 12 week class, Homeschool Co-op, My mother-in-laws birthday, Scout meeting and daily basics.
HERE'S A PICTURE THOUGHT I'M SHARING: It's Tommie when he was 4 years old...this is one of my favorite pictures of him!
