favorites!

One of my favorite gifts I received this past Christmas, was this beautiful turquoise bowl from my cousin! I have nothing turquoise in my home... but it is very pastel and shabby chic...so it blends really well! And, looks pretty darn perky holding the clementines!
She also knitted and felted a couple of brightly colored potholders! They're dreamy! I just absolutely love the happy-cheerful colors! Especially, on these cold, wintery 8 degree days!!!!

Remember how I mentioned, I was thirsting to go to the .25 cent thrift store? Well, I did last Saturday! I came out with two big garbage bags full of stuff...all for $7. My treasures included: a large shoebox full of brand new business sized envelopes, a purse from Nine West, a stack of paperbacks for a dime each, lots of sweaters- very nice wool...that I've already shrunk and they're waiting for me to make felted crafts from! I also found the video: Christy.... and a vintage green crocheted doily.... oh...and, I also picked up this 4-pc. china set (below):

and.... this ivory colored plant holder...which is home to one of my violet plants!

I just found a new blog, it's quite interesting...it's called The Grocery Cart Challenge. This lady shares really good tips on feeding a family of 6.

I hope your Thursday is unfolding nicely... I'm off to blog over at my "Twisted Education," blog...I hope to see you over there! smile-wink-nod!

dinner tonight? pizza and salad! what's on your menu?

Pizza and salad sounds good for here too!

Take me on your next .25 excursion...pleeeeease!

My turquoise cubby was done that way on purpose. Bright and happy colors, just like you said, make you feel a bit better :). Very southwesterny!

That is a beautiful bowl! I wish we had a 25 cent thrift store here!

THAT is a gorgeous bowl. I am trying to intentionally include things in my house that give me joy to look at. This is not something that comes naturally to me. I want to go to that store. When are you going to tell us where it is?

Oh yeah, for dinner, we had Second Shelf Sweep.

I'm off the hook as far as cooking dinner goes- my mother in law is making dinner tonight for my husband's birthday!

Your thrifting treasures are amazing. Lucky you!
