..... life is an occasion, rise to it!

-christmas tree is down.
-all decorations put away. we were all getting claustrophobia.
-walk-in pantry cleaned out and organized.

i made a non-traditional centerpiece using shabby chic cups and dishes, with various candles! i just love the mini dessert candles (above)... my mother-in-law liked them too, and suggested i not burn them.... save them... so i did.

so, this is the room i sat in while waiting. and waiting. and waiting for the doctor to saunter in. the doctor, who was shorter then me (i'm 5 foot 1), came in, and in his best middle eastern voice asked me what was wrong. i couldn't help but notice he resembled ghandi. i told him about my jaw pain and ear pain and he asked... "you jump in any rivers lately?" trying not to smile and giggle, i asked him what he said? again, he said.... "you jump in any rivers lately?" yeah, okay.. that's what i thought you said. ugh, no. no i haven't. not that i remember anyway. i mean it is 25 degrees in michigan and river jumping is just not as common as one would think around here. ends up i have a sinus infection and have pain meds and antibiotic drops.

friday fill-in! 1. You get the freedom to choose kindness.
2. no one has the right to cloud your future, hurt your body or rob you of your self-respect.
3. It's winter time and man it's so cold in michigan!
4. obama's nobel peace prize and when he and michele were waving like they were eva peron' in argentina was utterly ridiculous! i'm just saying..... (got that from penny and robyn)
5. I feel that christmas is way to commercial and i loathe giving gifts made in china. what do i really want for chirstmas? marine glue, mod podge, a big bag of barley flour and the dvd: mr. magoriam's wonder emporium.
6. soon i will be saying...goodnight!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight i'm looking forward to another super-hot shower with soft pajama's and falling right to sleep, tomorrow my plans include another cowboy christmas show in lansing... cattle (beef) and Sunday, i intend to honker down and christmas shop and run christmas errands.
Happy Weekend and I'll be back soon!

dilly beer bread in just 30 minutes!
Spray a bread pan and it’s sides.
Pour a can of beer in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 1 minute or slightly longer.. Just enough to warm up the beer. Then, dump the beer bread mix in a bowl and add the warm beer. Mix real good. Pour into your greased bread pan. Put the good-smelling bread dough into a cold oven. Shut the door and turn the oven on 350*. Bake for 45-50 min.

now... i'm off to my very neglected homeschool blog to update it. see you tomorrow!
i made a couple of baby bibs to resell at my cousin's craft show. they're made from a recyled skirt and a chenille bedspread! below: a new pampered chef pink knife i picked up for .19 cents at goodwill.
